Dr. Jonnie Quantz is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has spent her career as a leader in advancing veterinary emergency and specialty care throughout Southern California.
In 2000, she founded the Animal Emergency Medical Center (AEMC) in Torrance, CA, which she owned and directed for more than 17 years. Under her leadership, AEMC grew into a full-service specialty and emergency hospital equipped with advanced diagnostics—including CT, ultrasound, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, digital radiology, and a comprehensive laboratory. AEMC also became a respected training site, offering a rotating internship program and residency training in Emergency and Critical Care.
In 2011, Dr. Quantz expanded her vision by opening the Long Beach Animal Emergency (LBAE), a dedicated after-hours emergency hospital. LBAE provided urgent and critical care, surgery, and advanced imaging for small animals and exotics, with a focus on compassionate, accessible care during nights, weekends, and holidays.
After selling both hospitals, Dr. Quantz turned her full attention to innovation in veterinary diagnostics by expanding and improving the Mobile Animal CT (MACT) platform. Through MACT, she introduced state-of-the-art mobile CT imaging to veterinary hospitals across Southern California and Arizona. Using a compact, high-speed CT scanner, MACT brings advanced diagnostic capabilities directly to general practices and specialty hospitals. This model allows pets to receive cutting-edge imaging in the comfort of their veterinarian’s care, reducing stress for families and improving patient outcomes.
With decades of experience as a clinician, hospital owner, and innovator, Dr. Quantz continues to shape the future of veterinary medicine by expanding access to advanced technologies that elevate patient care.
